The Local Bit is a trade name of NovaTech AV LLC, a Virginia limited liability company. On this page, “The Local Bit”, “we”, and “us” all mean NovaTech AV LLC.

A description of what we do and how we work. Everything here is general information. Nothing on it is a binding offer, a quote, or a commitment to take on a project. Scope, price, and timelines only become real in a written agreement.

Sending us a message through the contact form, or emailing us, doesn’t start an engagement. It doesn’t make you a client, it doesn’t put us under a duty of confidentiality, and it doesn’t commit either of us to anything. That happens when we both sign an agreement — so hold anything genuinely confidential until it’s in place.

The opinions, figures, and examples on this site are written for a general audience. They aren’t engineering, legal, or financial advice for your particular situation. Talk to us — or to the appropriate professional — before making a decision based on any of it.

The text, design, logo, and code of this site belong to The Local Bit. You’re welcome to link to it, quote it with attribution, and share it. Don’t republish it wholesale or pass it off as your own.

Don’t attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the site or the systems behind it; don’t scrape it in a way that degrades it for anyone else; don’t use the contact form to send unlawful or abusive content.

We link out to research and third-party sources where we cite them. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for what they say or do.

We keep this site accurate and online as best we reasonably can, but we can’t promise it will always be either. It’s provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for loss arising from using this website or relying on its contents. That’s separate from the responsibility we take for the software we build, which our client agreements cover in full.

Warranty, support, ownership of code and data, and everything else about an engagement live in the agreement we sign with you. Where that agreement and this page disagree, the agreement wins.

We may update these terms; the effective date at the top tells you which version you’re reading. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
